Gift Giving With Books

Hello! Sorry for posting late this week. I also realize that a few days after Christmas is probably the worst time to post about gift giving, but I am still going to post about this. Here are some ideas for December birthdays, any birthday, a holiday, or really anything. One of the best books I have received is a book called Frankie and Bug. It was from my mom's friend. This is the book I am currently reading.

I know gift giving may be hard when you have so many options. If you are getting a gift for someone, why not get them a book? You can be very thoughtful with books. I post about lots of books. Most of the books I post about are very good books. You could get ideas from my blog, other blogs, recommendations from your local bookstore, or bestseller lists if you would like. Choosing to give somebody a book narrows down the options of what to get them. You may want to give them a book that you have read so that you know it is good. You could give away a book that you have already read. I personally do not like to read books more than one time. I hope this gave you some ideas even if you may not use them for a while.

Susan and the Butterbees

I was at my grandmother's house and wanted to smell a book. (I know how weird that sounds. I just like the smell of an old, musty book.) My grandmother has several books. First I smelled one in the room where my parents were sleeping. The smell was not right. Then my dad brought me to her set of encyclopedias and asked if they were the right smell I said "no." They were close but not perfect. My dad looked through more books. He was like " Wow! These are all classics!" He also saw one he had never heard of. It was called Susan and the Butterbees. He took it off the shelf and started reading it aloud. He only got through the first page because it was time for dinner. I liked the book. I started reading it on my own. I am only on page three because I am reading a different book right now called, Frankie and Bug. I am pretty sure this book is about how the sandman got his name. I will tell you more about it another day. Right now I do not know much about it but I can tell that I will like it.

Frankie and Bug

This book is amazing! It is about a girl named Bug who has gone to the beach every summer for the past two years, with her brother. However her brother, Danny, needs space now. That means he cannot bring Bug to the beach. They do end up going to the beach sometimes but not at all as much as they used to. Philip is one of their friends. His nephew was coming to be with Bug for the summer so she was not bored. Philip's nephew's name is Frankie. Bug thinks it is strange that Frankie and Philip have never met. It seems that Frankie will ruin Bug's summer. Frankie does not like the beach and he thinks that the L.A. area is weird. Then Bug and Frankie realize they do have something in common. They are both interested in the "Midnight Marauder." They want to catch this attacker. In my opinion this book is one of the best books I have read. (keeping in mind I always say that for whatever the current book I am reading is) I am loving this book and highly recommend it.
