DANNY THE CHAMPION OF THE WORLD

I have not gotten very far into this book. Danny's father has a secret that he has been hiding for years. One night Danny wakes up and his dad is not home. He looks all around, but his dad is nowhere to be found. He waits on the steps of the caravan that they live in. Who knows how long he was there? When Danny's dad gets home, Danny has tons of questions. His father respects that he has questions. His father reveals his deep dark secret and all the other secrets that go with the main secret. Danny is shocked! The secret leads to an eventful journey.

POETRY

Poetry is writing. I wrote a poem about books in the shape of a book. I absolutely love writing and poetry is one of my favorite types of writing. Not only is it fun to write; it is also is fun to read. A lot of poems rhyme or have a consistent beat. Some poems just jot down emotions. I had to think of a poem off the top of my head the other day and here is what I came up with:

Eggplants are yummy.

Eggplants in my tummy.

Did you plant the egg

or did the egg plant something?

See? It is definitely not a good poem but I came up with it in one minute. Better poems are ones that you put more time into. Like my poem about books. The picture below is my poem in the shape of a book.
