My First Visit!

Hello! I just went on a trip to Colorado. It had been years since Winter Park had a bookstore but someone came in and fixed that. Miriam Roskam loves books. She hated that she had to drive hours just to go to a bookstore. Therefore, she opened a bookstore of her own. Her bookstore is called Mountain Shire Books and Gifts! It is a tiny, little place but has tons of books! My mom got the very book her book club was reading without even looking for it! ( It is called School for Good Mothers.) If you go try and find Mountain Shire Books and Gifts, it is in Cooper Creek Square. You should keep in mind that the bookstore is on the second story. Again, it is in Winter Park.

Here are some nice facts about it.

1. It has a cute patio.

2. In the children's section I found a lot of books I like and other kids my age like: Diary of a Wimpy kid, Dog Man, and Harry Potter.

3. It opened during COVID.

4. They also have cute gifts (pins, magnets, and water bottle stickers)

While we are talking about bookstores and libraries, I would like to give a shout out to my school librarian. I got a book from our school library this week (wait, I actually renewed it) and it is such a good book! It is from one of my favorite series. It is a classic. It is... Little House By the Shores of Silver Lake. The series is Little House. There is lots of action, yet none at all. It is calm and sincere, yet dramatic and suspenseful.

The Ingalls family is moving west again! Pa really wants to find homestead there. Then when the town gets built Laura can go to school. Ma wants Laura to go to get education along with the rest of her daughters. Mary got scarlet fever and is now blind. Laura has to see with her words for Mary now. Pa finds a job out west and everything is going right.....until it is not. One night Laura and Carrie encounter a buffalo wolf. You will remember from earlier in the book Pa saying "I'd hate to meet one without a gun." What happens? Poor Carrie! Poor Laura! I suggest you go read the book to make sure there alive.
