First of all I have know idea why "Book 2" was written in my book. So I guess I've read book 1? I think all of the books might be in 1 book so I will give you what happens in "book 1" without spoiling anything.
Harriet the spy is about a young girl in 6th grade. She dreams of being a spy and by the looks of it her dream will come true she spies real deal on people at her spy route. Her friends Sport and Jannie are supportive they have a triangle, all three of them supporting each other. It is full of mysteries but is not scary and is very well written.
Now time for how I choose my books and a thanks to Katrina. I choose my books based off of the level I read at, books I have read in the past and liked, and books my mom loved when she was my age. For example a book that I just read my mom loved as a kid. She loved it so much that she wanted to read it with me and like 5 minutes she was yelling. " I forgot how good this book was. That book was also at the level I read at. It was not based on previous books because I have not read many books like it. If I follow at least 1/3 of these it will be a good book. The more of these steps I follow, the better the book (usually)
Thanks Katrina for this question and I hope everyone liked this blog and maybe some of you were inspired by how I choose my books.
