Reading changes your perspective in reality you can reflect back on what happened in you book and what is happening now. You can compare and contrast. You can get ideas. You can see similarities. You have a different take on reality. You also can put yourself in the characters shoes. You will be able to think "Oh in that scenario I would..." Doing this helps you predict your books and people who can predict parts of their books are usually good readers. This is why I like reading.
